We had a great week here at Parkside and here are just a few highlights: • Thank you to all the parents and students who came out for our 2nd session of Freshman Orientation! It was great seeing so many new RAMFAM and thank you to our amazing Parkside Counseling Department for putting this on and our RAMbassadors for always being the student leaders and doing a wonderful job as always! • Thank you to those who came out for our Senior Summer Session this week and thank you again to our PHS Counseling Department for putting it on. Parkside High School Class of 2025, all of the information that was presented that day is now in your PHS Class of 2025 Google Classroom. • Our reigning national championship band, the Parkside Marching RAMS, finished up their first week of band camp. It was great getting to see and hear our amazing band once again. They will conclude Parkside Marching RAMS Band Camp this coming Friday and we can’t wait to see their performances this fall, including playing at Met Life Stadium, home of the New York Giants and Jets. I had the honor and pleasure to meet almost 100 of our new incoming Parkside High Class of 2028 this week on Thursday for Freshman Orientation. It was great seeing so many new RAMFAM in one place and remember that there is a 2nd date of Freshman Orientation this coming Thursday, August 8th at 1 and 3 PM for those who would like to attend. Special shoutout to our RAMbassador student leaders for coming in to assist with Freshman Orientation and giving tours to our new RAMFAM while also answering questions and helping calm any fears for new students. This morning we had a great start to Parkside Freshman Orientation! The Parkside High Class of 2028 was able to meet the principal, get a presentation on all they need to know as freshman from our amazing counseling department, and got a tour of the building from our RAMbassadors. We will have 2 more sessions next Thursday, August 8th, at either 1 or 3 PM. It was great getting to meet so many new RAMFAM today, the Parkside High Class of 2028!

Upcoming Board of Education Monthly Meeting Dates and Times: Board of Education monthly meetings will take place on these second Tuesdays through the summer: June 11 at 1:30 p.m., July 9 at 7 p.m., and Aug. 13 at 1:30 p.m. The Board of Education meets on the second Tuesday of each month, at 7 p.m. in odd-numbered months and 1:30 p.m. in even-numbered months. Note: The date of the May 2024 Board meeting was moved from May 14 to May 7 due to the Maryland Primary Election on the later date. The meeting time was adjusted from 7 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. to remove a scheduling conflict with the Wicomico County budget hearing the evening of May 7.

The Interactive Media (IM) program of Career & Technical Education will have a year-end open house Wednesday evening complete with student digital art, live performances, and items for sale that were made by the talented IM students. This is a great opportunity for high school students and middle school students to see what they could do in Interactive Media. Everyone is welcome.
