We are proud to announce that Wicomico County Public Schools has once again earned the distinction of being named one of the Best Communities for Music Education. This is the 16th time in the past 19 years, and the 14th consecutive year, that Wicomico Schools has earned this award from the NAMM Foundation. Our students receive an outstanding music education in chorus, band, orchestra, school performances, parades and more. The award is directly related to the dedication and quality of our teachers as well as the support we receive from WCPS administration, school-based administrators, the Board of Education, and our community. Thank you to all of the excellent Wicomico music educators who made this Best Communities for Music Education recognition possible. Highlights from Day 1 of the 2A East Regional Track and Field. Only 6 of 18 events were finished yesterday with the remaining taking place on Thursday. Great start and congratulations to our 4x200 boys relay regional champions!!!
Justin Riddleberger, Drum Major of the Parkside “Marching Rams” and Parkside High Class of 2026, has been accepted into the Phantom Regiment Drum Major Academy and will travel to the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio for the event in late June. The Phantom Regiment drum and bugle corps has won the Drum Corps International World Championship title twice (1996 and 2008) and has been a DCI World Championship finalist every year since 1978. Graduates of their Drum Major Academy have served as drum majors and directors of some of the finest marching ensembles in the world, including elite collegiate programs and “World Class” Drum and Bugle Corps.
Congratulations, Justin… and good luck to the “Marching Rams” as they begin preparations for next fall’s marching season!
