Good evening, this is your assistant principal Mrs. Binns. I hope everyone had a relaxing weekend. Last week the Mobile Science Lab visited Glen. And the PBIS team hosted a craft and moving event. This upcoming week will be another exciting one at Glen. On Tuesday the 10th, SNAP ED nutrition program will be visiting grade 4. Alson on Tuesday, TAD students will go on a field trip for mock trial experience. And the Kids Read Now celebration will take place. On Wednesday, the Instructional Leadership Team will meet after school from 4-6PM.This week will be Spirit Week #2. Tomorrow is Movie Marathon Monday. Dress like your favorite holiday movie character. Tuesday is Merry Grinchmas. Wear Grinch gear or the color green. Wear red and white on Wednesday for Candy Cane Lane. Thursday is Holiday Head Gear Day. And Friday is Holiday Sweater Day. Go fancy, flashy, festive, or ugly, you choose. Remember our doors open at 8:30 AM. Students should not arrive before time, because they will be unsupervised. Pick up begins at 3:35. Students must be picked up no later than 3:50. Any changes in your student’s regular dismissal must be submitted to the office daily by letter or email to Glen@mywcps.org. Thank you and let’s have a wonderful week.

The MD State Department of Education has published the state, district, and school-level results for the 2024 MD School Report Card. These results offer a comprehensive view of school performance under the MD Accountability System for the 2023-24 academic year, highlighting key factors that influence school success and student achievement. The Report Card evaluates schools based on multiple indicators, including both academic and non-academic measures. Schools earn between 1-5 stars, determined by the percentage of points earned across the evaluated indicators. For 2024, we received 3 stars!

Our schools and our school system look forward to celebrating many of the teachers of Wicomico County Public Schools throughout the Wicomico Teacher of the Year Recognition Program..

This week the Mobile Science Lap will be visiting Glen. Our students will participate in science labs under the theme Food, Fiber, and You. General Education Plans have been sent to the parents of qualifying students. If you have not returned your signed copy of your student’s plan, please do so immediately. This week will be the first of our Holiday Spirit Weeks. Tomorrow will be Mele Kalikimaka Monday. Wear your summer vacation attire with a holiday twist. Tuesday wear holiday socks. Wednesday, wear your favorite PJs or comfy clothes. Thursday will be merry and bright when you wear something shy and bright. Wear red on Friday for Santa’s Angels. Reminder: Students will be in school this Monday and Tuesday, and then schools and offices of Wicomico County Public Schools will be closed Nov. 27-29 for the Thanksgiving break. The school system will reopen on Monday, Dec. 2. Have a great Thanksgiving everyone!

On Thursday, November 21, Wicomico County Public Schools held two Public Information Sessions regarding the current School Boundary Study and the two draft options for boundary changes. There is now an ONLINE SURVEY open through Dec. 9 to gather feedback on the two draft options for the school boundary changes. Just scan the QR code in either English, Spanish or Haitian Creole to participate in this survey. We want to hear from you. Calling All 5th Graders! 5th Grade Gators are invited to attend a Virtual Leadership Training on Thursday, December 5th from 6-7 PM on Zoom. Students will participate in a virtual tour of Parkside's Career Technical Education program. They will see how Parkside trains their scholars for the future workforce today! Then a visit to Wor Wic to see what community opportunities they have to offer for a two-year program. Next, a virtual tour of Salisbury University and the different majors they offer for a four-year degree. Finally, we will stop at University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) to see what opportunities are provided at that campus. We are excited for you to join in learning about the opportunities you have to prepare for your future!
