A huge shoutout to our amazing third-grade teacher, Mrs. Hemstreet, for bringing a dynamic Science opportunity to her scholars by partnering with WMDT! Thanks to her dedication, one scholar from her class had the chance to deliver an on-air weather report. Camden White stepped up to represent East Salisbury with confidence as the newest member of the Junior Storm Team on Friday. Congratulations, Camden, on this exciting achievement, and hats off to Mrs. Hemstreet for continually expanding her scholars' learning horizons beyond the classroom!

On Oct. 4, the 2024-2025 Wicomico Teacher of the Year, Debbie Reynolds (Wicomico Middle), joined the other 23 local teachers of the year from across the state at the Maryland Teacher of the Year Gala in Hunt Valley. Wicomico Schools had a fantastic time celebrating and supporting its top teacher, who in addition to teaching at Wicomico Middle is a graduate of James M. Bennett High and a former student of Bennett Middle, Prince Street Elementary, and Pittsville Elementary and Miiddle.. Thank you Ms. Reynolds for being such a fantastic representative of Wicomico County Public Schools, where our students are Learning Today, Leading Tomorrow.
Ms. Reynolds will continue to serve as Wicomico Teacher of the Year into April, when the 2025-2026 Wicomico Teacher of the Year is announced. That outstanding teacher is teaching in one of our schools right now, and your chance to nominate a deserving teacher for recognition is coming soon, starting Nov. 1.

Good afternoon East Salisbury Families,
Wicomico Schools is collaborating with the Wicomico County Health Department to have convenient, school-based FluMist vaccine clinics in all of our elementary schools to support the health of young scholars. Our school’s FluMist clinic will be at 9:30 AM on Friday, October 11, 2024 at East Salisbury. If you would like for your child to receive the FluMist at school, please register your scholar(s) at this link: https://wicomicocounty.as.me/EastSalsElemFlu
Please note that any child who has asthma or any significant underlying health condition (heart disease, metabolic disorders, kidney disease, cognitive dysfunction, seizure disorders) or is immune compromised should not receive FluMist and the child’s doctor can advise about a flu shot. When clicking on the link, please disregard the message at the top about bringing State Issued ID, Driver’s License, Insurance Information and Appointment confirmation number. Simply choose the appointment time and complete the form for your child if they don’t have the above-mentioned underlying health conditions.

Happy Friday Scholars, today is School Spirit Day. Show up and show your Wildcat Pride. We are proud to be Wildcats! Wear your ESS shirts or school colors (blue and/or yellow) today. #YouJustCantHideThatWILDCATPride
