🐿️ Good Sunday Evening Chipmunk Families!
This is Mrs. Harrington, your Assistant Principal, and I’m absolutely thrilled to share some exciting updates from Chipman Elementary! 🎉
📝 iReady Testing for 1st Grade : 📢 Attention 1st-grade families! This week, our 1st-grade scholars will complete their Fall iReady diagnostic assessments, starting Monday. Please ensure your child arrives on time each day by 9:00 AM ⏰, as testing will occur during their ELA block. Don’t forget to get a good night's sleep 🌙 and arrive on time. Your cooperation with punctual attendance helps ensure smooth and successful testing! 🙌
🚸 Drop-Off & Walkers: 👏 Thank you to all families for walking your scholars into their classrooms on the first day of school—it’s such an exciting milestone! As we move into week two, we kindly ask that parents allow their scholars to walk into the building independently. This will help our scholars develop independence and responsibility. 💪✨
For our walkers, please park in the lot off Booth Street during drop-off and pick-up. 🅿️ Please avoid stopping in the middle of the street or parking lot, as this creates a safety concern and can block traffic. 🚗⚠️
Starting Monday, all walkers will receive 2 numbered tags—one for parents and one for your child's backpack 🎒. To pick up your scholar, the person must have the matching tag, or they’ll need to show a valid ID and be listed as an authorized pick-up. Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe! 💙✨
🛑 Visitors: Important Reminder! 🛑 All visitors must present a valid ID when entering the building. No ID, no entry. There will be no exceptions to this policy 🚫. This is in place to ensure the safety of all our scholars. 💼👦👧
📂 Tuesday Folders: 📅 Tuesday folders will be sent home this week! Please sign and return any papers in the "Return to School" side of the folder by the next day. 📝✉️
🏫 Back to School Night & Title 1 Night: 🗓️ Save the Date! Tuesday, October 17th, from 5:30-7:00 PM, we’ll be hosting Back to School Night and Title 1 Night! Families can visit classrooms, learn about Title 1 programs at Chipman Elementary, and explore different ways to get involved and engaged. 🤝✨
👗 Dress Code Reminder: As our scholars return, please keep our county’s dress code in mind! 👕👖 Clothes must cover the entire back and shoulders, and students’ midriffs and backs should be covered while sitting and standing. Students who don’t follow the dress code will be asked to change. Thank you for your understanding! 🙏✨
